David Shepherd DVM - OWNER / VETERINARIAN Dr. Shepherd graduated from Auburn University as an undergraduate in 1987 with a degree in laboratory technology. He also attended vet school at Auburn and graduated in 1991. Dr. Shepherd enjoys spending time with his family, Auburn football, sports with his two children, and continuing education. Dr. Shepherd has been married to Dr. Jannice Laketa since 1992. They have four dogs and nine cats, all of which are rescues! Dr. Shepherd and Dr. Laketa had their daughter Morgan in 1996 and their son Quinn in 1997.
Dr. Jannice Laketa - VETERINARIAN Dr. Laketa graduated from Purdue University in clothing design. She attended Auburn University for veterinary school and graduated in 1991. She is a Auburn sports fanatic and grew up in a basketball family. She is adjusting to life as an empty nester as both of her children are now off at college. Dr. Laketa also enjoys going to continuing education, reading and gardening. Everyone at NRVC profits from her amazing vegetable garden every summer.
Jane Sowden - VETERINARY TECHNICIAN / HOSPITAL MANAGER Jane graduated from Emory University in 1999 with a bachelor of science in biology. She has worked for North Roswell Veterinary Clinic since May of 1999 and became a licensed veterinary technician in 2006. Jane is a fan of Ohio State University where she was born and raised. She loves spending time at the lake and spends most weekends on a boat. She has three dogs and two cats. Jane has a daughter Madison who was born in 2009.
Laken Morris - VETERINARY ASSISTANT When not dressed as a Disney princess singing songs to animals, she is studying at Kennesaw State University where she will be graduating in December of 2017 with a biology degree to expand her passion to help animals. She enjoys spending time with loved ones and also nerding out with cosplaying. She has a beautiful baby Basset fur son named Dr. Watson.
Gabby Merkle - VET ASSISTANT, RECEPTIONIST. She began working at North Roswell in 2010 as a kennel assistant but she and her family have been clients of North Roswell since 1994, before Gabby was even born! When she was 9 years old,Gabby and her family brought in a kitten which needed an emergency blood transfusion and she announced that day that she wanted to work here! Even though she is only here part time now she is an important part of our team! Gabby has 1 dog and 4 cats
Stephanie Coleman - RECEPTIONIST Stephanie's been working with us since January 2017. She's a proud mother of 2 adult children and 2 cats, Chloe & Sissy. In her spare time she enjoys playing video games and reading.
Melissa Paven - RECEPTIONIST & SPECIAL PROJECTS Melissa started working here in September 2014, needing a complete change of pace after spending too many years in the Health Insurance industry.Having moved to GA in 1986 from Boston, it still amazes her that she has been in the south for 31 years. Melissa is currently working towards moving back to the beach for retirement; somewhere much warmer than Boston. In the meantime she enjoys working with the people and animals at NRVC and volunteering at Good Mews, a no-kill, cage free cat shelter in East Cobb. Melissa has one cat named Biloxi.
McCall Oliff - VETERINARY ASSISTANT McCall joined our team in May 2015, sher started out in the kennel and trained to become a Vet Assistant. She currently attends University of North Georgia where she plans on getting her Nursing Degree. Although not here fulltime due to her studies she still fills in whens she's able.
Cara Eteridge - KENNEL ASSISTANT Originally fromn Ohio, Cara has lived in the south for 15 years. She is a licensed Cosmetologist and is an avid pool player. Cara loves her job helping and working with animals. She enjoys taking her dog, Roxy, on hikes in the Georgia outdoors with her husband and son who was born in 2016.
Kelly Sullivan - KENNEL ASSISTANT Kelly was born in 1998 and has been working here since 2016. She currently attend South Forsyth High school and will graduate in 2017. She loved going to my high school football games and looks forward to going to the LSU football games where she will be attending the fall of 2017, majoring in wildlife ecology. Kelly have two cats, Paisley and Clyde and a dog named Blu.
Jon Crum - KENNEL ASSISTANT Jon's been working here since February 2017, although we've known him since he was 17 as he is part of the Shepherd-Laketa household. Jon graduated from the University of North Georgia with a degree in International Relations and plans to attend graduate school for Economics. In the meantime he's negotiating with our boarders, issues have arisen between the German Shepherd and the Italian Greyhound.
